Love after love......

The time will come when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving at your own door,
in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the others welcome,

And say,sit here,eat.
You will love again the stranger who was yourself.
Give wine.Give bread.Give back your heart to itself,
to the stranger who has loved you all your life,
whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart.

Take down the letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs,the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror,
Sit.Feast on your life.

I am reading 'The Time travelers wife' this poem is at the very beginning of the book,I read the poem and loved it instantly,I am probably one of the few people who have not seen the movie, but the book is amazing and I am relishing every page,it is one of those books that reminds me of the absolute power of clever writing, and the reason why a good book is as essential to my wellbeing,as is a decent meal.

Read it and weep.

  2. Have you finished it yet? I haven't see the movie either, but the book was so wonderful. I cheated though..I got the book on tape and it was "read to me" while I was doing my house work. Joe, came in one morning and got so hooked that he made me start the book over so he could hear the whole story from the beginning.
It was kind of nice sitting and listening together.

  3. I am the same: a good book is essential to my well being, as is a good meal.

    Warm wishes,

  4. Wonderful, thank you for sharing your "love yourself" message. This piece of artwork is also particularly compelling to me. I feel the male-female dynamic looking at it. Do you know who the artist is? I can't quite make it out.
